Pineapples and oranges are two of the tastiest fruits that should always be kept stocked up in your kitchen. They hit a perfect balance between nutrient content for the health benefits, water content as a base for the juice, and sweetness for fantastic juicy flavors. The minerals and vitamins that pineapples and oranges contain when combined make them the perfect foundation for strengthening the immune system which is why we have put together this delicious pineapple orange juice recipe.

Ingredients and health benefits

Pineapple

  • Pineapples like oranges contain a healthy dose of vitamin C, which as we all know, is great for sharpening your natural defenses against unwanted bacteria. But what makes them stand out is that they are high in an enzyme called bromelain. Bromelain has got many anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to help with a variety of issues such as osteoarthritis, wound healing, and cardiovascular disorders. These combined nutrients and health benefits make pineapple perfect as a base for our immunity-boosting pineapple orange juice recipe.

Orange

  • Thanks to the enormously high vitamin C content that oranges contain, they are one of the best fruits for boosting the strength of your immune system. A single cup of oranges contains 106% of your minimum daily vitamin C requirement. Oranges are also high in beneficial phytonutrients which not only help the immune system but can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and may help to lower blood pressure.

Lemon

  • Lemons are a magnificent fruit to add to this pineapple orange juice recipe due to their wonderful nutritional properties. Just like pineapples and oranges, lemons are also fantastic for their Vitamin C content, helping to strengthen your immune system response.
  • The high vitamin C content has also been shown to limit the effects of the common cold.

Mint

  • Mint is a refreshing herb that adds some unique nutritious properties to our pineapple and orange juice. Mint has been shown to aid in digestion as well as having phytochemicals with antibacterial properties which can boost your immunity and may help reduce symptoms of the cold and flu.
PINEAPPLE ORANGE JUICE RECIPE

This highly nutritious pineapple and the orange juice recipe is not only beneficial as an immunity boost, but the high vitamin c content is magnificent for supporting overall bone health.

This is thanks to vitamin C’s exceptional capability to enhance calcium absorption. With efficient plant-based calcium intake and a healthy dose of vitamin C, you can lower your risk of osteoporosis as well as strengthen the immune system.

Kitchen Tools needed for this recipe

Since there are no large leafy greens in this pineapple juice, it can be made with both a slow cold press masticating juicer like the Omega Vsj843 Slow juicer and a fast centrifugal juicer like the Breville cold press xl. The downside to using a fast juicer is that it may not break down the mint efficiently.

An alternative is to use a blender that is powerful enough to break down the mint into tiny pieces without the blades missing the mint during the rotations.

With all three of these options, it’s compulsory to peel the orange and lemon skin before juicing or blending.

If choosing to use a fast juicer or a blender for fruits, then passing the extracted juice through a sieve is a brilliant way to filter out the bits leaving you with just the nutritious juice.

For optimal orange and lemon juice extraction without unwanted pulp, a citrus juicer is a perfect tool for the job and saves you the hassle of having to peel your oranges and lemons.

If choosing to use a fast juicer or a blender for fruits, then passing the extracted juice through a sieve is a brilliant way to filter out the bits leaving you with just the nutritious juice.
