If I am totally honest with you, I have to admit that I really dislike the taste of celery! 

But with all the positive cleansing health benefits packed into this “tasty” vegetable, I had to find a way for me – and others like me, to enjoy a nutritious celery juice cleanse, but in a way that my tastebuds would actually appreciate.

So I put together 2 amazing celery juice cleanse recipe with a combination of unique fruits and vegetables that taste absolutely fantastic when combined. The fruit and veg mix balances out the acquired taste of celery while simultaneously providing a plethora of cleansing benefits that will hopefully leave you looking forward to your next celery juice.

Each of the ingredients in this celery juice recipe were chosen based on their beneficial nutrient properties that studies have shown can help with cleansing the body and creating a healthier digestive system while also tasting great.

Any juicer is sufficient for this recipe since there are no big leafy greens or difficult plant foods to juice like ginger or leafy greens. Can I use a blender for these juice cleanse recipes?

A blender can still work for this recipe but it wont be as efficient at extracting a high celery juice yield as a good juicer. Another extra step required if using a blender over a juicer will be filtering out the pulp and excess bits after the blender has finished mixing. You will need to use a fine sieve or strainer and run the juice through it a few times until you are satisfied with the consistency of the juice.

Main Celery juice cleanse recipe

  • 2 cups celery
  • 1 cup pineapple for sweetness
  • 1 cucumber

Celery and pineapple detox recipe

  • 2.5 cups celery
  • 1 pineapple whole medium sized pineapple
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 3 mint leaves

How to make celery juice in a juicer

  • Wash the celery stalks and remove all leaves
  • Cut the celery stalks into a small enough size that they can easily fit through your juicers feed chute but not so small that it takes forever to place all the pieces into the juicer
  • Wash and slice your cucumber into sufficient size chunks. You can leave the skin on since it's packed with beneficial nutrients.
  • Cut your fresh pineapple into pieces reasonable enough to fit through your juicers feed chute
  • Feed the ingredients through your juicer. It's best to alternate between hard and soft ingredients to allow the tougher foods to push the softer foods through. 
  • Serve and enjoy!
    It is best to drink your juice while it's fresh since nutrients will tend to degrade due to oxidation the longer they are left out.

How to make celery juice in a blender

  • Wash the celery stalks and cucumber
  • Cut the celery and cucumber into small enough pieces that they won't cause your blender to jam.
    Leave the skin on your cucumber
  • Cut your fresh pineapple sufficient chunks.
    If you have a blender below 750 watts, it may be wise to leave out the pineapple core since your blender may not be powerful enough to break down the tougher pineapple pieces.
    Most blenders 1000w and above like the Nutri ninja pro will break down a pineapple core with ease providing the pineapple has already been cut into small chunks.
  • Place all ingredients in the blender ensuring not to overfill
  • Add a small cup of water, enough to allow for an efficient blend, but not so much that the celery juice is heavily diluted.
  • Blend until all ingredients are mixed well without large bits.
  • Use a fine sieve, strainer or nut milk bag to filter the blended ingredients, which should remove all the pulp. This may need to be done a few times to extract the most pulp.
  • Serve and enjoy!
    It is best to drink your juice while it's fresh since nutrients will tend to degrade due to oxidation the longer they are left out.
