Are you taking the correct steps to reach your body weight goals? Making a carrot juice recipe for weight loss may sound surprising to some, but the nutritional properties of carrots make them a wonderful plant food to aid in your weight loss goals.

Let’s get one thing straight; when it comes to weight loss, there are no magic pills, mystical e-books, or secret programs that will instantly get rid of the unwanted fat.

But

There are a few simple things you can focus on in a disciplined manner that will get you exactly where you want to be as long as you stay consistent.

One of the key things any vegan or vegetarian can focus on to get their weight management back on track is their food intake. Increasing your intake of whole plant-based fruits and vegetables and lowering the high calorie processed foods that contain minimal nutrient content works wonders to keep the fat away.

An excellent way to do this is through juicing, and one of our favorite vegetables to juice is carrots. We have put together a simple yet delicious carrot juice recipe for weight loss with additional ingredients chosen that have been shown to aid in healthy weight management.

So what makes our carrot juice so great for weight loss?

Carrot juice ingredients and benefits

Carrots

This delicious orange root vegetable is one of my top choices when creating juices with weight loss as the primary focus. Unlike fruits with higher sugar content, carrots are low in calories yet still have a uniquely sweet flavor making them a great juice to aid in your weight loss goals.

Carrots are also extremely nutritious, being one of the best sources of beta-carotene, which is great for eye and skin health, while also being rich in lycopene which helps to protect your body against a range of chronic diseases. These benefits alone make carrots an excellent vegetable to boost the effects of this weight loss juice without a major spike in calories.

Celery

Celery is most definitely one of the most popular vegetables to juice thanks to its high water content filled with vitamins minerals and antioxidants. The highly nutritious water content makes it the perfect base for a weight loss juice since its extremely low in calories.

What makes celery stand out is its high electrolyte content. Studies have shown electrolytes can help with healing, overall muscle function, and aid in preventing dehydration.

Staying fully hydrated has a high correlation to maintaining a healthy body weight, making celery perfect to juice for weight loss.

Oranges

I don’t think there is anyone in the world who dislikes oranges. Their fantastic flavor and high vitamin C content make them the perfect fruit to add a bit of sweetness to do this carrot juice recipe.

Oranges are also high in beneficial phytonutrients, which is great for strengthening the immune system and lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease

We only want a small amount of orange juice to keep the calories low for this weight loss juice.

Kitchen Tools

When it comes to effectively juicing carrots slow masticating juicers like the Tribest 5050 and the Omega nc900 provide the best results over using a fast centrifugal juicer since they provide the largest carrot juice yield and retain the highest nutrient density due to the low-temperature slow speed juicing.

Centrifugal juicers can still be effective tools for carrot juicing but are limited with the versatility of fruits and vegetables that can be juiced with the carrots. Fast centrifugal juicers struggle with leafy greens but if you plan to only juice sturdy foods like carrots and apples then a fast juicer like the Breville juice fountain is perfect with the advantage of getting your carrot juices made at a super quick pace.

Can I use a blender for this carrot juice weight loss recipe?

A slower juicer is the best tool for the job since it can extract the highest yield from the carrots and celery without wasting much produce. However, if you only have a blender we recommend a blender with a power output over 750 (optimally over 1000w). The power is needed to efficiently break down the carrots without leaving bits or chunks. One that we use quite a lot is the Vitamix 750 which should make light work of tough carrots. Using a blender also requires an extra stop to filter the pulp after blending. This can be achieved efficiently by pouring the blended carrot juice through a fine sieve or nut milk bag.

Ingredients

  • 4 carrot
  • 1/2 orange
  • 1 cup celery

Equipment

  • juicer
  • Blender

Instructions

  • Wash your carrots thoroughly, ensuring to remove all excess dirt. Using a good food brush is a brilliant way to remove the outer layer of the carrot without the need to peel each carrot separately.
  • Cut the tip and bottom off of the carrots then slice them into chunks small enough to fit in your juicers feed chute.
  • Peel your ginger and cut into small chunks
  • Juice your orange.
    a) For optimal orange juice yield using a good orange juicer like the Breville 800cpxl works brilliantly.
    b) If you want to run the orange juice through your slow masticating juicer you will need to peel the orange first and separate into segments. Our favorite slow juicer that can deal with carrots, ginger, and oranges is the Omega nc900.
    c) Alternatively, you can use your muscle power and manually squeeze your oranges until you have an adequate amount of juice.
  • Place the carrots and ginger into your juicers feed chute alternating between ingredients until all pieces are juiced, and pulp is extracted.
  • If your oranges were juiced separately, mix your fresh carrot juice with your orange juice until smooth.
  • Serve while fresh and enjoy!
